Puttering away in the studio...pencil stroke by pencil stroke...and gradually the drawing is progressing...or, at least, about halfway finished.
These are detail photos of the bottom half of the drawing from a section that is approximately a 24 inches high x 30 inches wide (the entire drawing is 48 x 3o inches):
The paper is white, not gray, but the general value range is correct. And, for you horticultural enthusiasts out there, you are right - cotton does not have thorns. (We call that artistic license and yes, we are a bit touchy these days).
